I fully admit I haven't a clue about engineering a chassis so my opinion is mostly null and void. I figure though, if a chassis can be used for a four door sedan, it lacks a bit of sports car pedigree compared to the Z32. Sure our Z's chassis is dated now, but it was purpose built to be a special, pleasurable car to drive. It is for the same reason we don't see the FR-S/BRZ chassis being used in anything else, especially a sedan. There will never be another Z with a cockpit as good as the Z32's, and I have my doubts we'll ever have another Z with a power plant that sounds as good as the VG does, both of which matter quite a bit to the overall driving experience. Sure new cars and especially sports cars have major horsepower these days and look cool, but putting your foot down behind the wheel of the Z32 is a unique experience. I feel in a way that the GTR's development is the closest thing since the Z32's development (In terms of Nissan sports cars) of being built from the ground up to provide a particular driving experience. Where as the new Zs we have, feel a little less purpose built to be special cars, rather generic sports cars. They're still sports cars no doubt, but lacking a little bit of soul. Also, imagine what the full price of the new Q50 Z could get you in a Z32 build. :) Maybe Nissan will make me eat my words, I hope they do.
